Hi, My name is Kris and Will is my Dear sweetheart. He has been living with Kidney disease for the last 7 years and has a number of other medical conditions that have weakend his body. He has nightly dialysis at home, and is often weak and tired due to low hemoglobin. Over the last year he has become very weak and is unable to walk ; so he was aproved for a wheelchair and it was made for him through the VA system. The problem we are facing is that we don't have a proper vehicle to transport it. Even to hire a medivan for appointments is over $200.00 per trip as we live about 50 miles from the VA hospital. And after checking with various people at the VA, we found out that they will not cover the transport since his illness is not service conected. Having our own van for transport would allow him to be able to enjoy life again We could get out like everyone else and enjoy the time we have left together. So, This is my plea for help , as We do not have the funds to buy a vehicle. WE would be so appreciative and thankful for ANY help. We did find the perfect van at a local dealership, Anderson and Koch Ford here in North Branch, MN that is specifically designed to transport a wheelchair for $26,000.00 before taxes and such.
