South County Animal Rescue

South County Animal Rescue "Fur-Ever" Friends was founded in January 2016 by two extreme animal lovers, Lucy Jensen and Andria Brinson. Together, Lucy and Andria had rescued many, many animals over the years and brought them into their homes. They have witnessed extreme dumping of animals in their communities over the years and aim to combat that with a surrender program that will lessen the issues of animal neglect and injury. Lucy and Andria also foster animals with a view to nursing the animals back to optimum health and then finding them their 'fur-ever' home, since they can't keep them all in their homes, even if they wanted to.
This foster 'process' was all done in a from-the-heart mannered way without any proper organization behind it. Then it came about that it became increasingly difficult to get the foster dogs into the Peninsula sponsored vet and more difficult to secure them fur-ever homes. There are just so many needy animals out there - it's an enormous problem.
And so it came to be that they realized the huge need in their own community of an animal rescue that they needed to found themselves. Initially, they are wanting to build a foster/adopt network to help fill the current need of abandoned animals; they also want to have animal education programs out there for the community and 'Animal Champions' to help with the cause, fundraise and more. The foster network will need supplies to assist their work - cat toys, kibble, dog feed and kennels, leashes and more.
Ultimately Lucy and Andria want to be able to rent their own facility and have a base for their operations and storage for all the essentials they are going to need such as pet feed, beds, kennels and more. They will then be using the base as the rescue center to care for the dogs and cats, while they are waiting to get their vet care - their spaying, neutering and shots -  before placing them into the foster network for family care and attention that they believe is so key to finding the animal their fur-ever families. This is the plan and the plan takes money.
They have formed their Board of Directors and will be adopting their by-laws at the first board meeting, so that they can then apply for our non-profit status and community grants. In the meantime, they would be very grateful for any donations that might be forthcoming while they endeavor to put together this essential project to help rescue the animals.
