Dusty is a great husband, and father to a beautiful little girl, Hannah, and and about to be adding another little baby girl to his young family in the next 5 months! He is a Iraqi war veteran, and extremely talented welder. A true friend; loyal, with old school values. Sadly, he was bitten by a Timber Rattler Sunday evening at his home, while relaxing with friends and family. He is currently in the Cardiovascular ICU unit in Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
Dusty was scheduled to leave this week to begin another job, but instead is fighting for his life with his family by his side.
PLEASE, I beg of all his friends, now is the time to have his back! An event like this will devastate this family's savings and put them in a hole they will surely need help getting out of. Let's come together and help our friend. Our brother. We know he would help each and every one of us. Every little bit helps. Keep Dusty, Lauren, little Hannah, and baby Rhodes in your prayers! God bless them.

Latest Update: ( From Lauren)
Cleaning went well. Just x rayed to view the fluid in his chest again. He opened his eyes but went back to sleep, he is in and out but knows I'm there and likes it when I talk about Hannah

Today's update (sat 6/9/16)
Dusty Rhodes stayed steady through the night. He started getting a fever but they immediately counteracted with the cooling blanket because it was creeping up to 100. His levels to try his breathing trial this morning look good!

I had another pep talk this morning. They will lower his sedation and pain meds shortly and see what Dusty will do. We want breathing on his own and purposeful movement (squeeze my hand, wiggle your toes, open your eyes and look at me).

Shine Dusty! Even if it just for a little bit!! ⭐️✨

Latest update.
Dusty is still in critical condition. They have changed his anti venom dosage to a continuous drip instead of an intermittent timed dosage. His fever has come down but still over 101. He is off full sedation but his body is currently in fight mode, with the help of pain medication. The doctors are happy with the swelling in his hands being not as taught even though they are still a concern. the blood flow is still circulating and showing good color.
Today has been ok. Fever, and swelling was a concern but they have changed things up and will review his labs tonight. We are expecting him to sleep thru the night.

Update: ( from Lauren) just spoke with his doctor. He does have a lot of fluid in his right lobe of his chest. They are doing a bronchial suction as we speak. They took him off pain meds and expect him to wake today for a breathing trial. Dr Bromberg expects him to have a functional recovery!!!

Latest Update:
Update: Everything is kind of the same from last night. No sedation. Lowered his pain meds. He has bad coughing fits but the sedation kind of stopped us from viewing it. Lots of fluid being removed from tubes in his chest. Hoping he will wake today but every body reacts to pain meds differently so there isn't a time on when he will wake.

Dusty and Lauren, I sat down with a retired CW5 Paul Barnes today and had lunch. I spoke to him briefly of what you guys are facing right now. His heart goes out to y'all. Hey Bubba, from the moment I met you overseas in Iraq I swore to myself that the friends I make there will be the family that I have in the future, and brother today is no different from how I felt back then. You and Lauren are family to me and I'm praying for you guys non-stop. Things will get better and the pain will stop. Recovery is ahead and you'll be bouncing the kids on your knees and right back to enjoying life. I'll need to make it a point to visit as soon as time is on both our side. God bless you guys and know that if I could do more I would. Chief Barnes and I put together some funds and hope this helps. Love, Kentucky
