Liver transplant expenses for Val
I am humbly requesting your assistance for medical expenses preparing for and completing the transplant process. The after transplant process will require frequent hospital trips and labs to make sure the new liver is thriving. The Transplant Center recommends fundraising to meet these costs. We are currently paying on four separate hospital plans in addition to separate entities for labwork, etc.
I am so very grateful for the love, support and prayers I have received already from family and friends. I am blessed with my wonderful husband, Dale and my joyful daughter, Katelin. We all thank you in advance for your support. If you feel inclined, please share the gofundme page with your friends and colleagues.
It is with humble gratitude that I outreach as I have never been in this position before. In addition, it is my prayer to recover completely so that I may teach again and be in a position to support others. God bless you!
First, all glory to God! Prayer works! My insurance issues for the transplant have been successfully resolved! Thank you all for your intercession.
I had my 3 month appointment on Thursday and am now able to limit my labs to every other week. In addition, I have been taken off of four medications including Coumadin. I so missed my salads, cabbage and greens; now I am free to eat them again.
My labs are good only needing more platelets and iron. My blood sugars are great and blood pressure needs some lowering. Overall, great progress since October. While still needing to be conscious of germs, I can get out more - these four walls were shrinking fast! I am continuously in gratitude for all of you!
Happy new year! I hope I am finding all of you well this new year. I have a couple of prayer requests that I humbly ask help with. I received an Explanation of Benefits statement from Blue Cross Blue Shield close to a month ago that stated zero paid due to lack of preauthorization for the procedure. I spent an hour with BCBS sharing my documentation. They stated that the doctor who submitted the claim submitted a wrong code. We were transferred six times at Piedmont and finally told to resubmit medical records. I called yesterday to follow up and was told that Piedmont submitted a corrected claim with a higher amount and so processing of the claim would have to start over. I ask that you all pray for any and all barriers or confusion with the claim and the bill be removed and resolution be found. I know God can make a way where there is no way and that He fights our battles. I confess worry and ask for prayers to have complete trust.
I have my 3 month appointment tomorrow and will update all when I know more. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.
Dale and I want to wish all of you a joyous Christmas and a New Year full of blessings! You all have been such a blessing to us during a very challenging time. This year we are celebrating new life and I am savoring every moment!
