It is with a heavy heart and sorrow that I post this.  Last night my son Errik lost his wife and best friend after 15 years together.  Liz Loosli also leaves behind her 5 year old daughter, Mira.

Liz passed away suddenly at the age of 32.  Liz battled and beat cancer twice, only to be taken from us suddenly and tradgically of what appears to be heart failure (autospy is being performed today).

Liz spent the last 13+ years as a preschool teacher and Errik is currently a deputy sheriff with DuPage County Sheriff's Department (7 years).  Both serving very important roles within the community.

Unfortunately, Liz was not "life insurable" due to having cancer.  My son is left with a tremendous amount of medical bills as well as funeral expenses, student loans and needs to sell his home as Liz also worked to support this.

Anything you can do to help support Errik and Mira would be appreciated more than words could say.

Thank you,

Good evening friends. As we say goodbye to 2016 we wanted to take the opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for your kind and loving support.. not only for all you have done for Errik & Mira, but Liz's & Errik's families as well. With all of the horrible, ugly and unthinkable things that have gone on and continue going on in this crazy world it gives us all a sense of peace knowing there is love and kindness out there...you have all shown us this ten-fold...so thank you from the bottom of our hearts...we feel nothing but love and gratitude for your kindness and support. Errik and Mira continue searching for a normal rhythm as the absence of Liz's presence grows more evident with each passing day. Liz was a wonderful, loving, beautiful mom, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, sister, friend and teacher to so many. She left us all with a big gaping hole in our hearts that only she can fill. As we send this year off, hoping for brighter days in 2017 it leaves us all with a sadness and pain as it quietly ticks away. Good bye 2016... Elizabeth Marie Loosli (Brouwer) we miss you more than words can say...you will stay always in our hearts.

Love & peace to all of you and your families. Happy 2017.

Good afternoon friends. I felt compelled to write a post on this day that marks 3 months that our beloved Liz has passed. So many things have changed in all of our lives and the pain is as vivid as ever. In some regards it seems like a hundred years since we have seen Liz and in others it seems like it she just left us. Mira started kindergarten and Errik went back to work...both two huge adjustments. Mira loves school, but still looks for momma and talks to her out loud sometimes. Everyone within the Evergreen school community has been so supportive and it means so much to us all. Errik is trying to find his new normal and adjusting back to the 12 hour shifts that he works...he has many around him that love and support he and Mira. Sometimes we just look at one another and there are no words, no answers, only the silence that will remain with this huge and heartbreaking loss. Mira lost her first tooth yesterday and was so excited she wanted to tell the world, but especially momma...I think I speak for so many, we miss, miss, miss your beautiful smile and kind, caring ways Liz...you will remain forever in our hearts.

Hi Friends,

It's been 26 days since we lost Liz and it seems almost impossible...the firsts have begun. Errik had his birthday without his wife there to make it special..she always made a big deal about birthdays and made him feel so loved. Mira continues to ask for momma. The week after turned into two then three and we are coming upon a month. The reality of this loss is extremely painful.

In an effort to try to ease some of the stress and burden, we continue to work to raise money to help Errik and Mira. We are almost halfway to our goal! For those of you that have been so kind and generous we love and thank you so much for your support...we ask for only one small favor, please, please , please take a moment to repost this link to your social media accounts, Facebook, Twitter, Email. Reposting would help extend our reach.

Thank you all for everything you have done to help. You will forever be appreciated. With love and peace, enjoy your day.
