About me:
My name is Lorraine and I am the mother of Sofi, a loving little 8 year old. We are Puerto Ricans and Bernie Sanders is our Hero!
It was so cute when Sofi came to me one day and said: "Mommy, I am going to vote for Bernie Sanders." It was so sweet and honest and innocent. It made me cry.
I think this is what this movement is about. It's about fighting for what is right! It's about our future and more importantly the future of our children! It's about believing that TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
For these reasons I am a true believer in Bernie Sanders and more importantly, a believer in THIS POLITICAL REVOLUTION!
I have donated to the campaign, phonebanked, worked at the polling sites in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and advocated for this campaign in many other ways.
Now I have become a Bernie Sanders delegate. I am doing this because I can trust myself. I know that no matter what I will stand by Bernie Sanders and protect the votes of so many who waited in such long lines in the heat just to cast a vote, including my parents, and even my daughters symbolic vote.
Since the costs to get to and attend the convention are very high I am requesting help to get to the convention as a delegate. Unfortunately, we were just chosen this past Saturday, June 25th. Therefore, we have to do everything very quickly because the DNC Convention in Philadelphia is July 24-29th.
PUERTO RICO:
I was born and live in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
Unfortunately, the things that are happening here are really sad. Almost everyone I know has left the island, is leaving the island or thinking of leaving! This really hits me hard.
For many years now schools continue to close. Hospitals cannot adequately staff their hospitals, and the doctors keep leaving.
Bernie Sanders is one of the very few people in the United States politics who actually cares about Puerto Rico and has even created a bill to help with the huge debt crisis we are facing.
I could go on, but I think you get the point.
