Help needed after surgery!

It's never easy to notice you need help until you really do need it. My family depends on me to make ends meet with my salary. My wife is on her own fixed income that handles her own expenses but not enough to cover the needs that matter most; rent, groceries, utilities - you know, the "life stuff!"

Recently, I had to have surgery for an umbilical hernia with complications. Prior to that, all the flare-up symptoms had me in and out of work to the point that my vacation and sick time had to be dipped into over and over again and it wasn't enough to cover it all, so we made do and were able to keep us fed - while I took out a payday loan to help cover us.

Being on short-term medical leave is a tedious process to start receiving payments while you are getting deeper and deeper in the hole. Our rent is now almost a month past due. And next month is fast approaching. The property managers have been tolerant but served us with notice to pay or quit. So time is ticking fast!

I'm asking for help not begging. We are a family that often will give our last "something" to ensure someone else doesn't fall into the same fate we are nearing. I don't get back to work until at least another week or two and that's when we can try and make ourselves face the tail winds with being able to work extra hours to stay ahead.

Being in pain, stressed out, and with unmanageable hypertension is not the best for me; without me, everyone loses and it's my responsibility to take care of other people with special needs in my home and be their rock.
