Help At-Risk Children Through Music

I am Gerald Forrest. For over a decade, I have served the community at large by bringing different cultures together through music. Through the GospelChops Foundation, a 501c3 organization that I founded in 2010, I have been able to inspire, encourage, and motivate at-risk youth across the country to channel their energy toward artistic creativity instead of turning toward the many vices that face them in the inner-cities.
One important aspect on my charity work involves video productions that highlight talented youth. These video projects have changed the global perception of urban drumming and have provided young artists with many career opportunities. On YouTube alone, these inspirational videos have been viewed nearly 17 MILLION times, opening a gateway for cultural change in the drumming industry.
In short, through in-kind donations of my own time and resources, I have constructed a nonprofit organization that effectively changes young lives for the better through the use of music. Music brings cultures, religions, ethnicities, languages, and attitudes together under one spiritual rhythm.
Recent events in our country require more robust approaches to discover solutions to improve social conditions and race relations. I strongly believe that music can bridge the gap between different cultures. I have seen it happen. I have made it happen. Now I need your support to strengthen these efforts.
Your donation will allow me to reach further into urban cities around the country and discover new, untapped talent in poor and underserved communities. I cannot overstate how much this can be a ray of encouragement to a young, talented child. Funds will also be used to upgrade outdated production equipment to improve our presentation of these young phenoms.
I am currently a law student providing my services to give back to the same communities that gave so much culture and creative opportunities to me. I understand that my work can be the difference between a child spending a life in prison or discovering a world outside of his or her current circumstance. I have decided that being that light in a dark subculture is my life’s work. I need your help. The community needs your help.
