Baker's Island Restoration
Donation protected
Baker’s Island, located in Webster Springs, West Virginia is a beloved recreational area for the community, tourists, and more. The high water that swept through the southern part of West Virginia in June 2016 left devastation in most of Webster County particularly hitting Baker’s Island hard. Baker’s Island Recreational Area includes a baseball field, basketball courts, picnic pavilions, grandstand, walking trail, playground, swimming pool, public river access and hosts many area events. Most of Baker’s Island was under more than two feet of water, causing severe damage to the property and facilities.
The City of Webster Springs and Webster County Economic Development Authority are coming together to request donations to assist in the rebuild and restoration of Baker’s Island Recreational Area. Every contribution, no matter how small, will aid in restoring one of Webster County’s greatest attractions.
Donations will be directed to Baker’s Island Recreational Area – a 501c Non-Profit Organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
