I'm John Slaughter and for more than 15 years I've been developing a vital records web site, MA Vital Records Project.

I wish to raise the money to help pay the costs associated with my site - hosting fees, membership fees in sites where I need to research, buying research material, paying for programming help.

The money will be used exclusively for the support of the MA Vital Records Project.

I am coming up on renewal of hosting fees. That is the most immediate issue. Without hosting, the web site dies.

Since starting this, it has become almost an obsession. My greatest pleasure comes from hearing from people who have found a long lost ancestor by using my site. I endeavor to make it the best vital records site there is. My site is totally free to anyone who wants to use it. I receive no financial or technical help in its maintenance. There is no advertising on the site and never will be.

Obviously, I'm going to be extremely grateful for the help. However, more importantly, all of the people who use my site will be grateful to the people who help keep this site online.

I have begun acquiring images for Connecticut. The transcriptions, and then the appearance of these online, will take time. Probably at least 6 months.

Your work has been of supreme value to my heritage research. I recently found that Essex County is essentially if not completely done and boy do I have ancestors there. Many of my better half's people come from the Springfield/Montague area nd that has been so much help. Your earlier efforts to finish Taunton, a topic you and I communicated on some time past, in Bristol County was the starting point for me to realize just how valuable your efforts were and continue to be. A BIG Thank You!

Hi John, I've been deep into European genealogy for many moons and wasn't reminded to make my periodic donation for your great site. I particularly like your "chronologic" toggle. It saves a lot of time doing a "reverse" lookup for families. By the way, my reference book, "Colonial Settlements of New England" is available on Amazon. Steve

I have been researching my possible connection to the Mayflower and your site has been the most helpful to me so far. I am a Wheeler by birth and that name is very prevalent in the Berlin/Bolton/Concord area of Massachusetts.
