Veterinary Bills

On April 8th, after a blissful day of napping in shafts of sunlight, feeling the spring breeze through the living room window, and drinking from the shower tap, our sweet Moses fell suddenly and irrevocably ill. In what seemed like no time at all, he vomited and lost the use of his back legs. We rushed him to the 24 emergency vet and he was tested for a number of diagnoses over the course of the next fifteen hours, all the while he was losing massive amounts of blood from internal bleeding of an unknown origin.

The care Moses received during this difficult length of time, as well as the care we, his family, received, was invaluable. Through the night, as the doctors tried to figure out where this internal blood loss was coming from, Moses received around the clock care with two or three doctors working on him and massive amounts of donated blood were administered. Unfortunately, before they could move forward with further diagnoses, Moses lost his battle.

As most of our friends and family can imagine, this is extremely difficult for both us (Chris and Liah). This stems not only from the financial strain it has taken but also from the grief we have both felt in our lives in the past few years. We were willing to do whatever was necessary to give Moses a chance.

It is our hope that if we receive funds greater than those we spent on his care, we can donate these funds to Father John's Animal House in his name which is the organization that gifted us with his sister - Magrat.

Moses was the source of incredible energy and sass in our household and there is a hole in our hearts that we hope to fill now with our happy memories of him.
