Save Julie's House

Julie Ginther is one of the most kind, hard-working, generous people that I have ever known. If you know her, there is a good chance she has loaned you money. She is the kind of person that shows up when her friends or family are in trouble, no matter what it is. She is always there for people she cares about. My hope is that in this time, in her time of need, we can be there for her. She would never ask anyone for help, but she needs it, and I think it’s the right thing to do.

As some of you know, Julie has a rental property in Salem, Oregon. She was able to put a down payment on the house after being hit in a near fatal car crash in 1999 when she broke both of her arms and one of her legs. As a result of the accident, she’s endured many surgeries and chronic pain. She still suffers a great deal and is constantly working to remedy her body.

The most recent tenant in her property has completely devestated her house. The property management company which has taken over dealings with tenants has just sent her a bill for over $6000 worth of damages. In addition to the damages, the tenants quit paying rent in March and she has had to go through extreme measures to evict them, including taking them to court. Meanwhile she’s been paying the mortgage on the house while also paying rent in California.

Last year Julie finished a program at SOCHI in LA for massage therapy and is currently an unpaid intern in Sacramento. She is currently working toward her career in massage therapy and corrective exercise at Symmetry For Health. Julie works everyday of her life to help others with their body, their pain, and to correct their problems. Right now her only income is doing extra massages on weekends and late in the evenings after work.

Julie is one of the hardest working people I know. She never stops. In the time that I've known her she's worked in a youth correctional facility, she's done promotional work for Costco, drove forklift, worked at UPS, and she's even washed windows. I know, we did it together while living in Florida. She's done those things while also wrestling, coaching basketball, and always training and pushing herself to the limit, through an extraordinary amount of pain. But she's unable to do what she's done in the past because her body will not let her.

The person who is always there for everyone, needs help. At this time, her rental house is sitting empty and unsuitable for renters. Until she has the money to fix up the house, she will have to continue making the mortgage. Her renters have already been taken to court and have absolutely refused to pay her for the thousands they owe in unpaid rent and now an estimated $6,000 worth of damages plus the cost of replacing the carpet. She needs the money ASAP so that she can give the property management company the okay to begin working on the house.

Please consider making a donation to help Julie save her house. She only has 12 years left on her mortgage to pay it off. I know it would mean the world to her to have the love and support from all of her friends and family.
