Crystal's Celebration of Life
Donation protected
This is my cousin Crystal Mercado-Lopez. She's the mother of Christian (12 year-old) and Kilikina (8 month-old). She was involved in a car accident on June 17th, 2016 with her daughter, Kili, while on her way home. Although little Kili and the driver of the other vehicle came away uninjured, Crystal passed away.
I can't explain how heart-wrenching it was to try to comfort her son as he processed the horrible news or to see the complete helplessness in her mothers eyes. Heart-wrenching. It's exactly that. They really need your support.
Your donations will help lay Crystal to rest and celebrate her life. It will also help reinforce all the love and support for Christian and Kili to help them get through this unfortunate time with their heads up knowing that life is still a beautiful thing.
Services will be arranged later next week. More information to follow.

Crystal called me her little sister. We grew up together under the same roof, on the same dinner table every night, shared barbie dolls, worked out to Richard Simmons and had song competitions all the time. Crystal loved music. She was a great singer.
My fondest memory of her was when she sang Brandy's Sunny Day, "What's a sunny day without you? Just another 24 that passes by...." If her heart could sing, that's what it sounded like. I begged her to sing it over and over to me until she finally laughed and said, "I cannot already, Michelle!". It was the 90's, but that moment is one as clear as yesterday.
If I could tell her something right now, I'd let her know that no matter our differences or how we've grown apart as adults, I still loved her more than she probably knew. I still do. And I'd reassure her that Christian and Kili will be just fine. I'll always be here, like I've always been for them, and will continue to treat her babies like my own.
Take care girl.
