Lana's Medical/Recovery Bills

Donation protected

October 2, Lana and I went for a run along a road with our roommate, Kris. It was getting dark but I knew the rules of running at night: bright clothes and running against oncoming traffic so they can see you better. There were many cars coming at us that would come close but all went around us. One car was coming closer and closer to us when Kris realized he wasn't going to go around us. He pushed me hard out of the way and I pulled Lana with me.

Lana was hit by this man going about 40 mph completely on her right side, damaging her liver, chest and right leg. I grabbed her as soon as I heard her screaming and out of pain, she bit me leaving punctures on my hand and forearm. I didn't notice them until after I saw the damage to her dislocated shoulder and broken leg and throwing up. Kris called the cops and they said they wouldn't come. The man who had hit her, got out of his car for all of 2 minutes to make sure he didn't hit US and then told us he was going to move his car... he took off.

Immediately at the Doggy Emergency Room, a woman came up to me quickly and said "Do you want us to resuscitate her if we need to? It starts as $500".  I yelled in kind of an angry tone, yes. After they stabilized Lana (she was in shock and bleeding internally), a man then came in and told me I need to pay upfront... $3,000. I signed myself up for CarePoint credit card and just hoped for the best.

Lana was in the ICU for 4 days. I couldn't take her home until she started and sunday she wasn't eating so anoher $1,125. When I went to pick her up, a surgeon was telling me the next step for Lana; surgery of her ligments that had snapped or amputate.

As a mother, a fur baby kind of mother, I'm refuse to let them take her leg. She wouldn't be the same spunky Lana that everyone knows.
(She's a Ben and Jerry's lover like her mom)

Any money raised will go straight to her medical bills and her recovery. That's it.  I feel weird asking for these kinds of things, but like I said... I'll do anything. Even if it's a dollar, that's a dollar more to her and getting her leg fixed and getting back to normal, and obviously, I dollar I don't have.
The surgery is $4,500 without tax and hospital stay which is why I added a little more but like I said... anything would help.

I can't explain in words... The Lord only knows how much I deeply appreciate this. From Lana and I, thank you so much.
