Wild Horse's Dream Property!

$455 of $250,000 goal

Raised by 11 people in 1 month
Wild Horse Rescue Center (WHRC) wants to expand! We want to open a sanctuary in Florida for the horses that cannot be tamed. We have found a beautiful property, our dream property, that includes enought land for a sanctuary and have grass for all of our horses. This property would also provide the horses with grass in the dry pastures, which is every horse’s natural choice, which would cut the cost of buying hay in half.  These savings would provide more money for essential expenses, like life saving rescuing of more mustangs, training, veterinarian and equine dental care.

Another important reason for our relocation is our need for more land that will allow us to create a permanent home for our mustangs who are so damaged that they are not adoptable and require a safe and peaceful sanctuary environment.  Unfortunately, our current property is too small for a sanctuary, so we are forced to find sanctuary homes for these unadoptable mustangs elsewhere, which continues to become more difficult, due to a shortage of sanctuaries in the United States. Our need for a sanctuary becomes more vital with each passing month.

WHRC has found a larger, drier property that will meet the needs of our horses.  (Please see the details and photos of this property below).  We have a goal of raising a minimum $400,000 up to $1,000,000, which will allow us to move forward with purchasing this property, either the 85 acres, or the whole 333acres, to build the cafe, museum, cabins and other features.

WHRC is reaching out to our supporters with the hope that they can provide a financial contribution that will help us to meet our goal to move to a larger, drier property.   This support will be greatly appreciated and will provide lifesaving help to our rescued mustangs.  We welcome donations of any amount.  No gift is too small!  For example, if 1,000 people give $10 it would equal $10,000.  If 1,000 people give $100 it would equal $100,000.

We offer two levels of sponsorship, which will provide permanent personal recognition:

Donors who give $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000 will receive name recognition on plaques on each of the 30 stalls, riding arena and benches at sitting areas.
Donors who give $20,000 or $50,000 will have one of our new buildings named in their honor.
Donors who give $100,000 or more will have one of our new buildings like the museum, the tack shop, cafe, barns, cabins or enterance named in their honor.

WHRC will be happy to provide more information and answer any questions that you may have.  You may reach our founder and president, Diane Delano, at visits@wildhorserescuecenter.org or +1 321-427-1523.

Details of WHRC’s Future Property:

A place where the wild horses can run with the wind in their manes, the eagles can soar, armadillos can play, tortoise can wander around, it will be a sanctuary for all species.

Future Additions
At this property, there are a lot of exciting things that could be added to Wild Horse Rescue Center, which you can read about here.  This is a property where the center could grow!

Sanctuary
Please be part of the first wild horse sanctuary on the southeast coast in the USA, located in Florida. The sanctuary would be a place where visitors could visit all year around, viewing and studying the wild horses. The new land would provide a true sanctuary type setting for wild horses to remain wild and free. They would have a forever home.

Education Center
We would also build an education center for our literacy program, Wild Horse Tales.  This would be a place where school groups could come and learn more about the wild horses and meet the characters they have been reading about.  The education center would also be open to the public or other groups to come and learn more about the wild horses.

AirBnB and Retreats
At one end of the property, there is a separate barn with ten stalls.  In the area around the barn, we are planning to build cabins and open an Airbnb where you can either rent a cabin and a stall or bring your RV.  The cabins would each have a kitchenette and a bathroom.  Having these cabins would allow us to be able to host retreats for the public or offer lodging, if we host a clinic.

Tack Store
A tack store would be set up where we could sell quality tack.  This store would be open to the public but would work as a resource for adopters to find tack for their new horse.

Wild Horse Museum and Cafe
A Wild Horse Museum would help teach the public about the history of the mustangs and about the history of Wild Horse Rescue Center.  The museum would include videos and photos of the mustangs from a long time ago and some stories from some of the animals who have come to WHRC throughout the years.  A cafe would also be built to offer snacks and food for any visitors.  The cafe would serve home cooked meals.

Native American Historical Land Markers
On the property, several arrowheads have been found, and there is also a cedar lined path that was planted by the Native Americans that leads to a central meeting area where they would gather for ceremonies.  We want to have tours where the public can come and learn about the Native Americans and their history.

Hiking Trail
A hiking and exercising trail would be built for visitors to hike on.  This would allow visitors to come at any time and wander around the center and see the horses. The trail would be dog friendly.

Shows, Clinics and Training
The property includes a 250’ x 300’ lighted riding arena, along with a speaker boot.  The arena is located next to the ten barn stall and future Airbnb.  This is the perfect place for clinics and shows.  Along with the big arena, the property also contains one smaller and one bigger round pen. This gives the center perfect opportunities to train the horses who come to WHRC.

The place would also be a perfect place to study wild horses in a natural setting, to photograph them and to walk among them and feel the healing energy from them. It would be a place for humans and horses to heal each other. Wild horses are extremely open to holistic healing, such as energy work, craniosacral, reiki, and sound vibrations. The center would offer workshops and retreats for this type of empowerment.

Retirement Home
With a bigger center, we want to open a retirement home for elderly mustangs.  They need a place where they can live out their days and get the care and love that they deserve.

To purchase the 85acer partial that we are looking at, the price would be $850 000. To achieve this, we would have to raise $250 000 in addition to the $600 000 we are hoping to get from selling our current property! Any donation, small or big, is greatly appreciated! If all of our followers donated $10, we would have $110 000, so please remember, no gift is to small! We believe in the power of the many!
