Support Cristina

Hi friends, my name is Lucy Macharia. Cristina is a lovely friend and colleague who I have been honoured to work with as part of our team on level 10 Albion and Lewes ward at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Cristina suffered a cardiac arrest at home and was hospitalised at the Intensive Care Unit for a few days but sadly passed away on Sunday the 15th of July.  The only support Cristina has in this country is her 20 year old daughter Marcia’ who found Cristina when this happened and Marcia is needing further support from her family all of whom live in Portugal.   The family are struggling financially and need all the support they can get to travel to and from Portugal to see Cristina and for Cristina's funeral which will be held on Friday the 27th of July, in Brighton.  I have nominated our team leader and Ward Manager Cameron Bishop to deal with the money withdrawal, and cover the costs that are required.   All money raised will go towards paying for Cristina's funeral completely and to provide money for her family to come over from Portugal to cover flights.  The money will also go towards any further funeral costs that are required, as Cristina's cause of death at such a young age is requiring further medical attention.  We will also put the money towards a Wake so we can remember Cristina's life after the funeral itself with those that wish to attend.   Any other money that is left will go towards supporting Marcia, Cristina's daughter and her family for the immediate time of bereavement.  Cameron has spoken with Marcia and she along with her family are extremely grateful for the funds raised and Cristina would be extremely proud of what we are doing for her, her Daughter and her family.   Please help us support this extremely sad event to the Soares family.
