Kyle Stoddard was diagnosed with stage four melanoma cancer on Thanksgiving day, November 26, 2015. The doctors were optimistic because he was 28 years old and he had a chance at fighting it.
He and his fiancee, Ruthanne, decided to move up their wedding and fight it together. The medicine was extremely powerful and worked well. However, the side effects were equally as powerful. They tried several kinds of treatments and he was in and out of hospitals for 7 months.
Kyle entered the hospital Thursday, June 9th for trouble breathing during one of his regular check ups. He was admitted and we were told he would be leaving Saturday. Before he left, he complained of stomach pain and they did a scan. He had such large masses in all his vital organs, that they knew it wouldn't be long. They were going to set him up with hospice care on Monday, June 13th because he did not have much time left. He had been fighting hard for 7 months believing he could beat it and when they told him the end was near, he finally lost his hope of a recovery.
He didn't say anything but finally consented to pain medication and he fell asleep without pain for the first time in months.He died within hours after that news.
His wife, Ruthanne, who is almost 22, will be receiving all of his medical bills and the majority for the funeral costs. She was unable to work after they got married because she was caring for him full time. She will still be receiving more medical bills after all this but already has a full stack to pay now.
Kyle lived an amazing life and loved so fiercely. His life was cut tragically short and Ruthanne is unable to pay her way out of this debt alone and desperately needs help from family and friends. Our goal is to raise at least $11,000.
