Steve's Medical Fund

Steve a 38 year old guy, was always energized and full of life.  Almost two years ago on October 3rd, Steve and his wife welcomed twin boys into this world and life was complete (twin boys and a 7 year old boy).  Exactly a weeks later on October 10th,  He admitted himself to the hospital feeling severely dehydrated, too weak to move, pale, incredibly nauseous and scared to know what was wrong with him. A colorectal surgeon eventually gave Steve an answer, which was not the answer he and his wife were prepared for. He had a severe blockage in his large intestine which turned out to be stage III colon cancer. Steve and his wife were left speechless, emotional and scared.  After 3 surgeries, collapsed lung and colostomy bag, Steve started treatment which involved chemotherapy, and many medical complications over 15 months (kidney failure due to chemotherapy). One of the biggest difficulties throughout Steve’s cancer experience was not being at home with kids but spending days and weeks in the hospital. Steve never gave up and fought everything with anger and aggressiveness. He eventually became comfortable with colostomy bag which forced him to stay at home most of the time due to leakage but he stayed positive and acknowledged that his life would never be the same.  After ending aggressive treatment, he felt instant emotional relief and was planning to enjoy life with 3 beautiful kids, his wife but within 4 months cancer reoccurred and dominated his body.   And once again emotional roller coaster hit his family, now with prayer for survival. Up to this day, Steve had 2 more surgeries, stents in his kidneys and now undergoing 12 more sessions of chemotherapy.  Every day is a battle for him to eat, drink and stay awake because this time side effect from treatment are horrendous. Steves life is not easy, cancer has spread to his kidneys, small intestine and the lining of the abdominal cavity but his family is not giving up on him and staying positive. With that being said, there are so many people as family members and friends are looking to help so we’ve started with this page in hopes of raising money for the family to offset any costs that they have faced and will face in this hard battle. Steve will continually need all of the positive thoughts and prayers. We ask that you please share this page on Facebook, through email, by word of mouth. We want this page to reach the most people it possibly can. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please do all we can as a community to help this family to battle with cancer. Through all the diagnosis, surgical procedure, and treatments his wife who a full time caregiver for Steve and a wonderful mother stays positive every day.  If people like you join with us, together we can support them in any way possible as Steven continues to battles this cancer.
