In March 2016 my life was turned upside down when I found out my beautiful daughter had a grade 4 brain tumour, up until this month Kelsie may was a normal 8month baby developing well and exploring, she started to be sick and lost balance, numerous trips up to a n e kept being sent home with just a viral infection until 2weeks later my doctor noticed Kelsie Mays head was extremely large for her age.
Kelsie may underwent a mri were we found out any parents worst nightmare she had a 10 cm tumour, Kelsie may was immediately rushed to addenbrookes hospital where she started to deteriorate quite quickly, she became sleepy and eventually went into a coma due to the pressure build up, she was rushed into surgery to remove the tumour.
Nine and a half hours later Kelsie may returned to intensive care where I was told that my daughter would have to have another operation in a weeks time as they could not remove all tumour as Kelsie may had become very unwell during surgery.
Second 6 and half hour surgery went well and managed to remove the rest of the tumour so then it was a waiting game to see what Kelsie may could do when she came round in intensive care.
Two weeks later Kelsie may finally opened her eyes for the first time she could not move and was very weak.
Throughout all of this Kelsie may has been the most determined little girl Iv ever known, she has been so brave throughout and truely is a miracle, doctors told me Kelsie may would never breath on her own but she eventually managed to get off the ventilator, they said she would never move again but she is slowly stronger, Kelsie may unfortunately lost her vision due to the tumour and pressure build up in her head.
We don't know what the future holds for Kelsie may as there is not enough research out there for children's brain tumours all we know is that she is a miracle getting this far which is why I decided to make this page to raise money for any further treatment Kelsie may needs as after all that fighting she deserve this chance.
