Books To The Rescue 4 Coastal GA
Donation protected
Years ago I was visiting a friend in the hospital. Walking to her room I heard a toddler crying. When I passed the room the toddler was in I realized he or she was all alone. I vowed that day to never let that happen to any of my children.
As a 4 year old child, I found myself in a crisis which has left abandonment issues haunting me, even though that was 50+ years ago.
These experiences are why I'm so passionate about Books to the Rescue for Coastal Georgia!
Books to the Rescue for Coastal Georgia is an onging first-of-its kind community engagement outreach program designed to stock Rescue Vehicles (and supporting agencies that serve children) with drawstring backpacks filled with new children’s activity, sticker and chapter books along with new stuffed animals.
Our primary mission is to equip first responders with resources to help soothe and distract a child in crisis.
We also equip Foster Care organizations, Domestic Violence Advocacy groups, & other like-minded organizations with the same items as the Rescue Vechicles receive.
This program was started in Greene County, Ohio in October 2015 and is currently being implemented nationwide.

Together We Can Make A Difference!
We rely entirely on the support of Local Businesses, Corporations, Foundations and Private Donors along with Usborne Books and More’s 50% matching grant program and additional monies from Seized Assets.
I'm currently working with the following organizations to start this program in the Richmond Hill / Savannah, GA area:
~ Chief Catlett, Richmond Hill's Fire Chief - we need to stock 9 Fire Engines
~ Chief George Stagmeier, Police Chief Hinesville, GA
~ Officer John William, Hinesville Neighborhood Watch officer
~ Chaplain Carl Gregory - Garden City Fire Dept
~ Helen's Haven Advocacy
