Wishes for Winston
On March
1, 2013, Chrissy and Eric welcomed 5lb 10oz William Winston Blevins into the
world. That same day they learned that Baby Winston has a very rare
condition known as Heterotaxy Syndrome. Heterotaxy impacts organ
development and has directly affected the development of Winston's heart. Due
to the complexity of his condition the family has turned to the talented and
caring staff at UVA Medical Center's PICU in Charlottesville, VA. In just a few
short days since Winston's arrival, he has undergone one major surgery on his
heart, and faces more in the very near future. As the family stands by
Winston's side during this difficult time it brings much unexpected expenses as
they have decided to relocate to Charlottesville during his time in the UVA
Medical Center versus traveling the 250 miles back and forth from Bristol,
VA.
The
outpouring of prayers and emotional support has been wonderful and we ask that everyone continue sending them to Winston, Chrissy
and Eric, and the rest of the family throughout this difficult time. For those
of us eager to find more ways to help, we have set up this site to provide
financial support directly to the Blevins Family. Our hope is to share this page
with as many friends, family, and even sympathetic strangers who are able to
help offset expenses as the family deals with
this incredible challenge. All donations go to Eric and Chrissy to assist with medical and
travel expenses, and the cost of a comfortable place for the family to stay in
Charlottesville, so they can focus all their energy into Winston's
recovery.
