PAWS of Jackson Needs Your Help

Hi! My name is Janice, and I helped found PAWS (Precious Animals Worth Saving) in Jackson, MN in late 2010.  We are a non-profit, no-kill foster-based animal rescue that runs solely on donations and community fundraising. We don't have a shelter building, but we have some wonderful volunteers who take in the animals in need, some that come to us very hurt, sometimes from accidents; sometimes abused or neglected; sometimes lost and sometimes just not wanted. Each animal who is taken in by PAWS is given needed medical care, is spayed or neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations before they are adopted to new homes. We do our best to find the most appropriate home for each, based on their needs and personalities.

Our available animals range in age from kittens like Peter

to adults who have been with us for as much as four years, like Caroline.

Caroline was completely emaciated when she first came to us with her daughter, Laura. Laura has since been adopted, but Caroline is still waiting for her forever family to find her.

We have had a number of emergency situations recently (cats severely neglected or ill), and need some help to be able to pay our vet bills. We are also in need to provide food and necessary supplies for our fosters. Since all of our animal care is volunteer-based, it's so important to have supplies to hand out when the cats and dogs go in to a foster home for care and love until they find their forever home.
We would really appreciate your help , and from myself and all of the fur kids, we deeply thank you! We will continue to work hard to raise money locally through our annual Walk for PAWS, bake sales, rummage sales and by relying on our wonderful community to donate when they can.

You can learn more about PAWS and see our adoptable animals on our website: or on our Facebook page:

Thank you so much for reading about PAWS, and for your donations! Every bit helps us help the animals who rely on us.

Ms. Tory was rescued from the streets of Lakefield in early 2013. She has had eye problems since day one, but all the vets have told us that the surgery to help this condition would be expensive and unlikely to help much. She was just seen by VMC in Worthington this past week, and the vet there is confident she can help her. We are scheduling surgery now, but will need to raise extra funds to cover this. Any assistance would be immensely appreciated!

The people and animals of PAWS wish to thank everyone who has donated profusely for your assistance; we truly could not do this without your support. $1,430 was raised last fall, and helped sustain us through the winter. Recently we have had some unexpected vet expenses (kids with skin issues, new rescues who were in bad shape and needed extra vet care , etc.). So we are once again reaching out to you wonderful supporters, and requesting whatever assistance you are able to offer. Every little bit helps, believe me!

A HUGE thank you to all who have donated throughout this campaign to raise funds for PAWS. We are just over halfway to our goal! Funds raised help pay our existing vet bills, and allow us to continue our mission of caring for the animals in need in Jackson County. Donations have stagnated a bit, so want to keep encouraging people to share to help raise money for PAWS. Thank you so much!!

Miss Sadie is one of the dogs we currently have available for adoption - she is probably around 2 years old, a spayed coonhound, housetrained, and a real sweetie! Interested? Please email
