CRPS Patient Timothy Taylor Needs Us

(Picture Above is before CRPS)

My name is Ray Wyatt and I live in Mobile, AL. I started this campaign to help a great guy, role model/mentor to several kids by teaching them his amazing skills and how to live right, and one of the most giving, selfless, and honest souls one is likely to ever find. Tim lives in Texas and has an incurable nerve disease called CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). This is the most painful condition a person can have.

On 7-11-14 Tims life changed in a very negative way. He fell and crushed the nerves in his left arm just above the wrist. His fall was the result of a faulty shower floor due to negligent landlords. It's truly disheartening that he now suffers from CRPS due to someone else. It is also disheartening because the people at fault literally laughed at the situation and never once even apologized.

Tim is trying to move on with his life despite of losing his own business and hope. Unfortunately, the CRPS also known as the "suicide disease" has taken over his life and causing him to live in absolute agony. He now struggles with basic daily activities such as household chores, playing with his very loyal dog, running errands, etc.

CRPS can affect its victims in various ways. In Tims case the CRPS caused his left hand & arm to horribly swell up and turn purple (blotchy). It also caused severe loss of mobility in his left hand & arm. Tim is one of the mentally strongest people I have ever met. Literally 95% of those who have CRPS absolutely give into it due to the excruciating pain. Tim has used his hand as much as possible regardless of how bad it hurt. His strong will has made it possible to regain some mobility and loss of swelling in his left hand. Unfortunately, the excruciating pain does not go away. On days when a flare up develops his left hand, left arm, chest, thighs and entire back literally feel as if someone soaked him in gasoline and set him on fire while scraping him with sandpaper. All of those areas also suffer severe muscle spasms at the same time. These spasms are worse than what we call a "trolley horse cramp". Sadly, Tim has to sleep in his recliner because the CRPS will not allow him to lay flat. The horrific burning and spasms do not go away and are much worse during flare ups.

The treatment options for CRPS are very minimal. Due to this disease being so rare medical insurance companies do NOT cover any treatments for it. Tim has undergone a few treatments (Stellate ganglion block & Brachial plexus block). He has also been through many physical therapy programs. The treatments and physical therapy programs that he has undergone has not helped. There is one last treatment option that may help him (Ketamine infusions). Although there is not a known cure for this absolute horrible disease, Ketamine infusions have been proven to help with reduction of pain and increased mobility of affected areas. At this point and stage of CRPS development within Tims body the Ketamine infusions are his last hope. If Tim can undergo the Ketamine infusion treatments on a continuing basis then he has a good chance of having a semi-quality life. Even though he wouldn't be cured of CRPS, there is a good chance that he wouldn't be in absolute agony around the clock.

Just try to imagine if you were blind for 3yrs and then all of a sudden your vision started coming back. Or, imagine being paralyzed for 3yrs and then being able to walk again. Image if you experienced either of those and your recovery was made possible because others donated to help with your medical expenses and other bills.
That is the only way Tim will be able to receive Ketamine infusions and start to have some sort of quality within his life again.

His Wife has been by his side every day and does anything she can to help him as he fights this incurable nerve disease. She is a teacher and most of us know that teachers do not make much money. There is nothing in this world that she wants more than for Tim to feel better. It hurts her so much that she can't do anything to help him with pain relief. Although, she does constantly fight with insurance to get his medication approved. I can hear it in Tims voice that it kills him to not be able to work. I know he wants to work, provide for his wife and contribute to their household.

Before Tim got CRPS he was always helping people including mentoring kids.
He enjoyed helping others when they needed it. Many people he thought were friends turned out to only be people that "wanted his help". After Tim got CRPS all of those "friends" except one stopped going by his shop, stopped calling, stopped texting, etc. It is hard for him to swallow his pride and ask for help. He has helped so many people and now we need to help him.

I started this Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for Tim so that he can get the treatments he so desperately needs. Not only does he very much need these treatments but he also needs financial help with the following (Medical bills, general bills, medicine, auto repairs, etc). The leading cause of extended flare ups is stress and I know Tim is constantly under an extremely high amount of it.

Let us not be like those who abandoned him during a time when he needed them the most. I understand that some of you may not be able to help much. However, every little bit definitely helps and is appreciated more than you could possibly imagine.

Tim & I were talking a few days ago and he said something that was very
Heart warning. He mentioned that if he could get back to having a quality life then he wanted to raise money to help others with CRPS. During that conversation he was in horrible pain as always but he was still thinking about how he could help others.

Tim constantly hides the pain and his true emotions the best that he can. He does this because nobody (unless they personally have CRPS) knows or would understand what he has to deal with. He has tried to tell "friends", Dr's, counselors and even people he barely knows how he feels. He has tried explaining to them how horrific the pain is and how this awful disease has ruined his life. In their minds they think that nothing can be that painful and basically change the subject on him. Maybe, just maybe one day all of those people will try to understand what Tim is truly going through beneath the shell in which he hides his pain, true emotions and embarrassment.

If you can, please help by donating. If you cant, please share the link with others. Lets help Tim get to a better life than he has right now so that he can get back to helping others himself.

Please watch the following videos that just lightly touch the surface of how horrible CRPS is. Please search YouTube and the internet for other videos that show how bad this disease is and what it does to its victims.
