Billy's Trip to DNC Convention

My name is Billy Moffett and I am a 22 year Union Member of the Communications Workers of America.  I have spent my whole adult life fighting for the Underprivileged and standing up for what I believe in. With my hard work I have been rewarded by being elected by our members President of my Local (6450) for two terms and last year being hired as the Missouri State Campaign Lead for CWA District 6.

When Senator Sanders announced he was running for President I like most others didn't know a lot about him. I had heard him speak on the Senate floor and was often impressed with his positions on most issues. As I got to know him I have realized he is the best Candidate Labor could ask for in my lifetime! In December of last year CWA actually endorsed Bernie. From there I have been knocking doors, making calls, and visiting our members worksites to spread the word about his campaign and why we need Senator Sanders as President.

I am proud to be the Vice-Chair of the Cass County Democrats and the opportunities they have given me! Being the Vice-Chair is a huge honor as I love Cass County and will always represent them with great pride and honor no matter what role I have. 

With great honor I was elected as a National Delegate from Missouri to represent Senator Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July.

With this trip comes a lot of expenses. The rooms alone are $629 a night before taxes so for five nights that’s $3,145. I do plan to share my room with a roommate and also drive to cut back on cost.

My National Union has given us a $500 stipend which is awesome however won't even begin to scratch the surface. 

I have never asked for money from anyone and feel really awkward doing so. However this is a huge expense that unfortunately since I am not part of the 1% I cannot bankroll the whole amount. I need your help! Please help me out and I promise I will represent the State of Missouri and the Democratic Party with great Pride!
