JoAnn’s Iris Garden, a garden for the community, faces possible closure without the community's financial support.
As you may be aware, JoAnn Burrell moved the Iris Garden to the current Eagle location 20 years ago. The Garden has been a point of interest to the local communities to view the Garden and if people so choose to, may purchase the beautiful flower for their own personal enjoyment. My goal is not only to sell irises but to have visitors enjoy the Garden’s beauty. While there is never an entry fee, it is not uncommon to see artists, families taking photos, and people having picnics in the garden.
Our neighbor that moved in to her house about a year and a half ago on Floating Feather, at the top of the lane, is suing us as she does not want visitors driving down the lane to the Iris Garden. We are asking for financial support to assist us with the costly litigation expenses to maintain the access to the Garden. If the support isn't there the garden may have to close.
