Hello everyone! The TL;DR version of this is that Champagne has severe and time-sensitive medical issues, she is thousands of miles away from the medical care she needs and her support system, and her living situation has become precarious.
Champagne says, "Hi! I'm at rock bottom, or I wouldn't be doing this.
"A little over a year ago I left my life and moved 3000 miles away to be with my partner. What was supposed to be a relaxing 6 month sabbatical from work has become a medical nightmare, with multiple acute and chronic health issues surfacing. I've been trying to get medical help, but have been stymied by the difficult medical care system here. Despite struggling with my health, I have been trying to find work (I have ten years as a lawyer, helping the poor and disabled); I have had no luck, regardless of level or position.
"My relationship with my partner has ended suddenly, requiring me to move. I lack a strong support structure where I am, and I need to get someplace safe, fast. I'm going to have to put my things in storage and then move across the country again, to stay with friends while I look for work, take care of my health, and find some stability.
"I am at the end of my financial resources, and need assistance. I am cutting whatever costs I can, including planning on camping through much of my traveling, and staying with people I know whenever possible. Due to health reasons, I cannot drive more than 5 or 6 hours a day, so getting across the country will take some time. Anything will help, and everything is appreciated!"
Champagne has tried everything, and her current situation is both dire and urgent. If there's anything you can do to help, please do; even small donations add up! Her projected expenses include getting some minor help packing (due to her health issues, she can't do it all of it herself and can't move furniture), storage fees, gas and food for the trip, and some resettling money.
