Save Hank and Helen's Home

My wife Linda and I are neighbors of Hank and Helen. Hank and Helen are 88 and 87 years of age and have lived in their home for over 50 years. Two years ago, their grandson convinced them to deed the home to him and promised to support them financially for the rest of their lives. Instead the grandson mortgaged the property to the maximum with three loans and defaulted on all the loans. The grandson then sold the home without Hank and Helen’s knowledge. We discovered the fraud and helped them hire an attorney who did the proper legal filings that stopped the public sale. However, the lenders went through the foreclosure process and that could not be stopped. They are now being evicted with no money and no place to go.

Local law enforcement and the District Attorney are investigating the case and the grandson will very possibly end up in prison on charges of fraud and elder abuse. They have a civil suit against the grandson and all of the lenders, but these procedures take a long time and require intensive investigation. All of which are quite expensive.

The funds will be used for two purposes. They currently owe approximately $25,000 in legal fees and will need to hire an attorney specializing in fraud and one that will have the experience and ability to attempt to stay the eviction order. If they are evicted they will need funds for first month rent, deposit, moving expense and a host of related costs.

We moved to Thousand Oaks a little over a year ago and Hank and Helen are two of the nicest people we have ever met. The emotional stress on them has been unbearable. We are hoping you will help them save their home. It is all they have.

The funds from this campaign will be withdrawn and placed into a bank account for the benefit of Hank and Helen Kawecki. As I am a legal signer on that account, I will withdraw funds from the account to pay attorneys, legal filing fees, storage fees, basic living costs, and HOPEFULLY BUY A MOBILE HOME by writing checks to Hank and Helen
