Good Shepherd Solar Panel Project
Donation protected
Good Shepherd United Church of Christ is a diverse faith community in Cary North Carolina dedicated to God's vision of a just world. As such, we are working to address Climate Change in a number of ways. Our proposed project is to install a solar array on our roof this year; our solar array will generate approximately 8000 kWh of electricity, prevent burning of 3.2 tons of coal and offset 9 tons of carbon dioxide annually. This is a great opportunity for people who care about transitioning away from fossil fuels to support renewable energy, especially if one cannot install their own array at home or work. Good Shepherd is a 5013(c) organization so your donation is fully tax deductible. Although our array is a small step in the fight against climate change, it is represents a new way forward. The cost of our array is $20,756 and the congregation has already pledged $5000 towards it. We plan to fundraise from June 5-Sept. 1 and hope to have the array installed by Nov. 2016.At Good Shepherd United Church of Christ we believe that climate change is one of the biggest moral issues of our times; we want to take action to help reverse the current climate chaos trends. Please join us in this community based project.
