Tad Shimabukuro's Kick Cancer Fund

Tad and Shelley Shimabukuro have recently been faced with a very difficult medical situation. Tad has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer at the base of his tongue and lymph nodes and he has started chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He has a tough battle ahead, but anyone who knows Tad knows what an amazing, strong, and positive man he is…and knows he will make it through this difficult struggle, even better with all of our support. The love and support of his wife Shelley and their beautiful little twins Sianna and Makana, as well as family and friends will be so important in this journey. Although Tad and Shelley both work, they will need to take time off. They have medical insurance thankfully, but it does not cover everything, and there will be large co-payments as well as other needs, and loss of work time
 

I approached Shelley and Tad with the idea of a GoFundMe fundraiser, and after some consideration they gave me permission. As a friend who worked with both of them for several years at Kona Village Resort, I know there are many caring friends who would like to do something to help them and this seemed like a reputable, safe and easy way to do it. There are no expectations, and any donation, no matter how small, will be put directly towards the bills and necessities that are quickly accumulating for them.
 

So if you would like to help Tad and Shelley during this difficult journey, this is one way to do that.  Any amount is so appreciated. This is a good way to show them you care, and to give emotional and financial support for this beautiful family. If you are so inclined, leave a short message of encouragement. And if you are not able to donate, that’s ok, prayers and positive thoughts are needed and much appreciated.
