S.O.S!!! We need your help raising the money for some very sweet deserving pups! Promises Rescue is a non profit rescue that is dedicated to saving the scared, the abandoned and the needy. Recently, we took in several heartworm positive dogs which comes at a great financial cost. Heart worms are not a death sentence in most cases if they are treated. With treatment ranging from $2000 to $4000 a dog it is going to take a lot get these pups healthy and on the road to recovery. With 4 dogs and one of which that is pregnant, the financial costs are sky rocketing and we need help!
With out treatment the heartworms slowly take over and weaken the heart. Once the heart has been filled, the parasites spread to the lungs making it difficult to breathe. With several months of treatment, these pups will lead long happy lives and be adopted. Unfortunately, they cannot go up for adoption until they are treated! So allow us to introduce the sweet pups in need of your help!
Dexter is German Shepard who is approximately a 9 yr old. Dexter was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina where he struggled being kept in a cage with strangers. Dexter was very scared in the shelter crying out and pacing. Now Dexter has settled in to a Foster home and is adjusting well! He is a funny guy that loves being loved!
Zoe is our most desperate of dogs. Zoe's a pregnant rescue from a shelter in Texas. Zoe is a Shepard mix and about a year old. Sadly there is a chance that Zoe will pass the heart worms on to her pups. A sweet girl that loves cuddles and playing, she really needs the assistance.
Ginger,the odds were against her, being a black lab mix who is estimated to be about 3 years old. A true survivor, Ginger had been passed up by so many for being what the shelter MISSED labled her as a ferrel dog, she was just scared in Texas. Ginger and Zoe arrived together and from the same shelter Huck arrived from the week prior. A sweet girl who is loving being loved. She plays well with foster sister Sage! A real gem of a dog, she has fought this hard to stay in this world, she's in our hands now and we need to fight hard to keep her here!
Huck is a 1-2 yr old handsome yellow lab, a rescue from a Texas shelter, is a sweet, well mannered boy who's loves cuddling, hates being alone, and deserves a title belt in the WWE! Huck literally beat the clock on being euthanized by a matter of hours! Huck's laid back lovable attitude endears himself to everyone he meets including other dogs. He has settled in to his foster home with ease and loves his new BFF and foster brother Boone. They love to roll around and wrestle and when it's all said and done fall asleep side by side!
