Dog needs a prosthetic paw!
Donation protected
I am a Feist mix, born on April 25th, 2015. I lost my right front paw because I had to chew it off to free myself from a bear trap. It was a very traumatic experience, but I am strong willed, and very thankful to be alive. My owner was a hoarder (with 22 dogs) and most of us lived on our own in the woods. Life was pretty awful until the animal rescuers came and took us to a shelter. However, there was not enough room there, so some of us were taken back to the woods where we had lived for some time fending for ourselves. My sister Sallie and I were two of the lucky ones. We were rescued by Almost Home Animal Rescue, based out of Maryville, Tn. We are now spayed, vetted, and have a wonderful foster mom and family, waiting to be adopted by another loving family. For the first time, we feel safe and loved. Life is good. My leg has healed, but I cannot run and play with my sister and the other dogs. The University of Tennessee Veterinary School is able to fit me for a prosthetic, and send the mold to an outside company for the actual prosthetic. I look forward to being able to walk comfortably again, play, and live life to the fullest. I will be forever grateful with your help in getting my new paw.
Love,
Callie
