As many of you know, Heather was diagnosed with cancer this past January. Also, as we all know, medical bills can be incredibly expensive, especially when you don't have insurance. Unfortunately, she didn't have insurance in January, so we have to pay 100% out of pocket for the doctor visits, procedures, tests, scans, etc. that proceeded the diagnosis and for some of them after the diagnosis, also. Our bills for these reached five figures before she was able to obtain insurance and have it kick in. Even with insurance now, we still have to pay a portion of all the medical expenses, a high max out of pocket, as well as for other things, like healthy foods and the monthly insurance payments among other things.

I wish I could say this wasn't a problem for us. I wish I could say we didn't need help. In fact, I have been telling myself that for months now because I haven't wanted to ask for help. But, I have to stop fooling myself... We do need help.

Heather is fighting this horrible disease, but she hasn't been able to work for months and we have been on one income. Being that this was unexpected, we were not prepared and money concerns have constantly been increasing and have become a huge unneeded stress at this time.

Family, friends and maybe even a stranger or two who just wants to help, I am asking you all on behalf of Heather and myself, to please help if you are able to. Every little bit helps. We are not trying to profit off of this. It kills me to have to ask for help. Donated money will be used to help Heather continue to fight this while maybe having to deal with a little less stress, so she can get healthy and back to being her fun, loving, colorful, vibrant and happy self and have many more years with her children, grandchild, family, and friends.
