The D. G. High / Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Contest is just one of the many valuable youth programs conducted by the Ohio Society SAR. The contest is open to all students of the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes (Grades 9 - 12) in public, parochial, private and home schools within the state of Ohio. The student presents an original speech based on his/her original research that deals with an event, person, philosophy or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution as defined by the National Society SAR each year.

The Ohio Society SAR is committed to furthering the continuing education, awareness and research of the people, events and ideals of the American Revolution.
