Shannon's Village

Shannon is a single mother of two beautiful children.  She graduated from St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City, Missouri, class of 1988.   She has been battling MS for the last 15 years while juggling kids, financial hardships and a growing need for assistance.

On May 12th, two days prior to her youngest child's high school graduation from Bishop Miege in Kansas City,  Shannon suffered a seizure that has left her beyond medical hope.  She will leave behind hundreds of people who love her and will miss her.  

The job she has cherished, being a support for her children, is largely accomplished.  They are strong, kind, wise and wonderful.  But they still need help.  Help with schools (Emily is attending vet tech school, while Dylan will be attending Loyola ).  Help with being on their own, and help with some of life-and death's -unexpected costs.  Shannon won't be here to help with that, but the villiage of people around her can.

This account is for them, the kids.  The funds will be administered by Emily or Dylan, and will be used however the heck they want.  

Ideally, I hope they use most of it for food, rent,gas and school....all of which they must figure out on their own, BUT I hope all who read this also kick In a few extra dollars to buy them a cold beverage to raise in salut to their wonderful momma .   I hope they will also use some of it to  just have a few good times  :-)
