THE BAND:
Dipping their toes into the music scene is just what the indie-folk duo Lotus and the Wildflower have been doing since 2013. Singer-Songwriter Carina Rempel and band partner Juhli Jobi released their first studio recorded album, Toes in the Water, in 2014 . The 7 track album included layers of local musicians offering sweet and earthy melodies alongside lyrical activism. Three years later Lotus and the Wildflower returned to the studio to create Piano in the Grass, an up-beat, fun to listen to EP inspired by nature, self-reliance and romance.
Now Lotus and the Wildflower are getting ready to set sail this summer on the Queen of Burnaby over to Vancouver Island.
THE TOUR:
With Toes in the Water and Piano in the Grass we are heading to Vancouver Island for a 5 day tour at the end of July with our drummer Chris Weekes on djembe! We're excited for a chance to share our music with our neighboring communities making stops in Victoria, Duncan, Ladysmith, Nanaimo,and Courtenay.
We appreciate all the love and support from our family, friends, community and the our awesome fans both near and far - you energize us!
THE ASK:
Recording, publishing and promoting music is not without some expense. While we've saved our money to get both the first and second CD recorded, produced, designed and put into production, we are hoping to garner a little support from our extended network in order to help us on our first tour.
If you'd like to support us on our journey across sea and land we would appreciate that so much and we'd like to give you something in return as well:
For donations of $20 or more you will receive a copy of our new EP: Piano in the Grass & our awesome "Til Mama Calls You Home" fridge magnet.
For donations of $50 or more you will receive a copy of our new EP: Piano in the Grass, our first album: Toes in the Water & our awesome "Til Mama Calls You Home" fridge magnet.
The money we raise will go towards are travel costs of ferries and accommodations. Any monies raised in excess of our goal will go towards studio time for our upcoming projects.
