Help Susan Kick Cancer's Butt!

Susan had a fortunate accident last summer, that you may or may not know about. She was on her very awesome motorcycle and hit a bump in the road so to speak... and her face hit the pavement! Ouch! The good news is her face is doing fine. The better and worse news is that she had a small spot of cancer on one of her lungs that was detected in the post-accident scanning. This really early detection has been a godsend.
Susan has had surgery to remove the lower left lobe of her lung and that went really well. She's been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma with Lepedic Tissue, "a rare and weird cancer," (doctor's description!) that has nothing to do with the usual risks like smoking, but its cause is currently unknown. Prognosis is cautious because this is rare, so there aren't many cases to compare it to, but after the surgery Susan learned that the tissue was tested and showed metastatic activity, which makes further treatment necessary.
The bills so far not covered by insurance have mounted to nearly $6,000, and further treatment hasn't begun. $10,000 would pay off current surgical costs and create a war chest for follow up therapy.
Susan helps so many people in her practice as Doctor of Oriental Medicine with acupuncture and more and is dedicated to helping our veterans by offering many free talks, treatments, clinics and services throughout the year. Now she needs our help.
Her daughter Maya, now an active teenager (pictured below several years ago) needs her Mom through her high school and young adult years... and wants to spend as much time with her as possible during treatment.
