Buying time for Mike Gudgell

Our friend, Mike Gudgell has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Mike and Peggy Gudgell are great friends of ours, our daughters being best friends.
Unfortunately, Mike's cancer was discovered too late- it has already spread and it is not curable. Of course, Mike, his wife Peggy, and daughter Robyn are shocked and saddened by this news, but are trying their best to get through this phase.
While Doctors in Seattle have given him no plans for treatment, Doctors at the Mayo Clinic have said that while it is not curable it is treatable! While this is great news it comes with a great financial price and Mike and his wife Peggy face some severe financial risk. They are doing everything they can to be able to get treatment and buy some time, but they need our help to get through this. The best treatment is not within their insurance network so there are a lot of out of pocket expenses, not counting what they will have to pay for transportation/accommodation costs to receive the treatment.
Mike is a hardworking man who has sacrificed months if not years of time with his family for his work, having worked away from home as a producer for ABC for years. Mike and Peggy are the best kind of people. Caring, generous, and giving of their time. If you know them, you know that this is the last thing they would ever want to do, but the first thing that they would do for any of us. So we have basically begged them to let us get them some help.
We are asking for help for Mike, Peggy, and Robyn, in getting through this nightmare, assured that they will have the funds to get the surgery, and hormone therapy, chemo, and radiation treatment Mike needs, and to not have to worry about expenses in support of their very modest lifestyle.
Mike is trying to stay positive. When he does go in to darkness, Peggy and Robyn are there to drag him back into the light. Mike knows he has much to live for, and would like to fight this. We ask for help in providing the easy part- the dollars. Meanwhile Mike and Peggy will do the heavy lifting.
