Savannah has badly injured her back

Dear friends,
I'm writing on Mindy's behalf. As some of you might know, Savannah injured her back a couple of days ago. With the expert guidance of two veterinary specialists, Savannah was given medication to decrease inflammation and pain. Unfortunately, Savannah couldn't tolerate the medication and began vomiting and having diarrhea. Then, as part of her back injury, she was unable to empty her bladder. When she finally voided, her urine was very bloody. Mindy, en route from Missouri, rushed Savannah to an emergency clinic last night where her blood work showed an increased white blood cell count, potentially from a bladder infection. Savannah spent last night at the hospital receiving IV fluids and a urinary catheter to help keep her bladder empty.
Now, Mindy, Savannah (and Bri) are on the road again headed home to North Carolina. Their next stop is Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Winston-Salem. There, Savannah will be evaluated by a veterinary neurologist to determine what the next step is to help with Savannah's back pain and trouble walking. At this time, she still has the urinary catheter in place and seems comfortable but the medications she's on now are keeping her from wanting to eat or drink. So, this evening, when Mindy reaches CVS in Winston-Salem, Savannah will probably need another night of IV fluids and supportive care.
Needless to say, her veterinary bills are already adding up. Any help is so greatly appreciated! We will keep all of you posted on how Savannah is doing.
