Striking Out Childhood Cancer



In February of 2012, my 11 year old Godson (CJ Banaszek) was diagnosed with cancer.  I vividly remember the phone call and the complete crash we all felt that day.  The next 2.5 years would be incredibly difficult for CJ, his sister Gabby, and his parents (Cas and Heather). Their family had a steep learning curve as the disease, drugs, symptoms and emotional toll are things you cannot imagine. They used all of the resources available to make CJ comfortable while spending hundreds of nights in the hospital and going through thousands of procedures and several bone marrow transplants. All the love that was given from his family, friends and community could not save CJ, and he passed in the summer of 2014.  

His mom, Heather, has since taken the role as Community Outreach Specialist - Nor Cal and the commitment to help other families and patients through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Their mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily for research into new treatments and cures, and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
I am committed to help with this project we  will need a great deal of volunteer support and attendance.
