A Fence for Opal

As most of you know, Ric and I are dog lovers and take our pups Yoyo and Tashy running out on trails near our house a few times a week.
One of our favorite runs is a wonderful place called Chesterfield Gorge.
For years now, on the way to the Gorge, we've passing an old trailer where a beautiful Husky has lived most of its life chained outside.
Being a dog lover, it’s broken my heart to pass her on our way to run our pups 5 or 10 mile runs along the river.
After years of passing by, one day I pulled into the driveway to say hello and meet the doggie and her owner.
Norm lives in the trailer and Opal is his dog companion. They're both delightful.
I have since made friends with Norm and take Opal for walks nearly every day. She loves walking on the trails near her house, wagging her tail and smiling when I pull into the driveway. But still, she lives her days on a 10 foot chain (Norm lets her inside at night).
Norm told me recently he wished Opal had a fenced in yard and hates that she's tied up.
Sadly, a fence is way beyond his budget.
At that moment, I decided to reach out to my friends and family and raise funds so Opal can live the rest of her life in a fenced in yard where she can wander wherever she wants.
Norm and I walked his property and calculated the footage. We need about 235 feet of fencing. I priced it out and was given an estimate of $1,000 for fencing.
To all my dog and pet loving friends, if everyone chipped in, we can order the fencing and unchain Opal in the next few weeks.
She's lived 12 years tied up. Its time Opal had the pleasure of wandering her yard, sniffing the grass and meandering where she chooses!
