Welcome! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my funding page for the National Democratic Convention!
As you may have figured out by now, I have been elected to be a delgegate to the DNC representing Bernie Sanders in Philadelphia this July. What this means is I have a very expensive but CRUCIALLY important trip to plan! It's important to me for several reasons.
1. I am a PRIME example of the kind of disenfranchised and cynical young person in our political system. Although I was a registered Democrat the day I turned 18, I had lost faith in the system and removed myself entirely from the process. This campaign has motivated and inspired me to take a PROACTIVE role in my community and my nation.
2. I am not a big celebrity, smooth talking politician, or some other type of big wig. But despite my seemingly low status of influence, I share important values with millions of YOU! It's these values that inspire me to fight passionately for our poor and disenfranchised in our communities. It's these values that motivate me to stand with my LGBT brothers and sister. And it's these values that give ME of all people the opportunity to journey to Philadelphia and stand with thousands of others and we demand a CHANGE in the way things are done in our country!
I waited a little bit to launch this page because I have plans to do some other even more creative and engaging fundraising efforts in the coming month. But until I get those details worked out, I wanted to give you the opportunity to pitch in what you can. Some of the money you give early on will help me to do some even more creative fundraising down the line. Fundraising that I hope will first and foremost result in spreading BERNIE'S message!
