Amy is a single mother of 3 now grown children. She has stage 4 terminal uterine cancer which has spread to both of her lungs.
This campaign has served a few purposes.
It initially helped cover expenses of her youngest child’s senior year of high school and transition to college.
It has also helped with some medical expenses that were uncovered by insurance.
Another goal is to help with any final expenses. It is Amy’s desire to not pass along any of these expenses to her children who are all in their early 20s.
Finally, her daughter joined the Navy. Through some amazing donations from some amazing people, she got to go
To Illinois to meet her grandson and to watch her daughter graduate Navy boot camp.
The last expense are the final expenses. She has looked into her options and work diligently to keep all costs down.. she doesn’t intend to het an “Mercedes of coffins”. In fact at this point it looks like maybe a small visitation, a cremation, and scattering of ashes. The details are still being refined based on how much we can raise in this final stretch. Any monies beyond what is needed for the final expenses will be donated to a charity of Amy’s choice (Habitat for Humanity is choice one and HPH Hospice is another.)
This is the home stretch. Let’s share our hineys off and get those donations rolling in. Every one counts. She is just as happy gettinf

Update- Since my trip to Chicago, which I do not regret AT ALL, I have been having some increasing issues. My swelling is a constant problem and is limiting my mobility more and more. My pain level/profile has increased and is more difficult to control. There have been some indicators of potential spread to my brain, something not all together unexpected. Grandma DeMoss had it happen, dad has it happen. While it is now appearing I may not make the early 50s like those 2 it is clear that my path is similar (although so far) in progression if not in speed.
Not news anyway wants to hear, I know.
So what we are pushing now are the final expenses. Once those are met we will be closing the campaign down. The faster the better. I don’t see that I need anything else other than support and comfort.
Monday I will begin calling getting new estimates. To remind people- we will NOT be having a service of any kind. That just isn’t me. Any things that people decide to throw together (such as my kids or my friends.
