Midwest Pop Culture Conference

I'm a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and recieved my Degree in Filmmaking with a minor in Womens and Gender studies.  My education has ignited an intellectual passion for popular culture.  I made some connections involving Conspiracy Theories, media, and white masculinity that turned into a fascinating research endeavor that I desire to explore further. I submitted my abstract, "Wake up, Sheeple!: The Mainstreaming of Conspiracy Theories in Popular Culture and the Crisis of White Masculinity," to the Midwest Pop Culture conference that will be held in Chicago, October 6-9, and to my excitement it was accepted!  For an academic scholar, this is an amazing opportunity to really shine and make connections. 
However, since I graduated and am no longer a student, I was unable to recieve funding as a Dragon alumni to travel to this conference.
I humbly ask for help in travel and transit.
The money will be used for a train ticket, food, and transportation expenses to and from the conference.
This conference means so much to me as someone who is aspiring to pursue graduate school and continue research in masculinities, popular culture, gender, sexuality,  and media. It is an honor that my abstract got accepted to this conference and a dream come true.
