Dammie to Paralympic Rowing Camp

Donation protected
Born of Yoruba descent in Lagos, Nigeria with a heart full of dreams and ambition, I am Ibrahim Onafeko, but popularly known as Dammie. As a promising elite blind rower, I have been invited to a LTA development camp in Boston to prepare for the Olympics.

It is my ambition to represent Nigeria in the Paralympics.

A rising junior majoring in Audio Production at Howard University, Washington DC, I currently train with the Capital Adaptive Rowing Program of the Capital Rowing Club at the Anacostia River.

To attend this camp I would need $800 to cover the $400 registration fee and $300 for roundtrip airfare Washington DC to Boston and $100 for expenses.

As a full-time student with no sponsorship from anywhere, I am counting on your generousity to make my dream of taking my rowing ambition to the next level, representing Nigeria in the Olympics come to fruition.

My Background:

My rowing career started two years ago at Capital Rowing Club at the Anacostia River. Evedr
since my first day on the water, I have grown from pulling my oars before jumping off my feet to first
jumping off my feet and hanging off my oars as I swing back on the drive. A , I have competed in many
events from Bayada Rigatta to Anacostia Head Race and Sprint to Mid Atlantic Sprint to CRASH B’S and
mostly emerge on top. I am currently the Concept 2 world’s gold medal champion in the 1000 meters
LTA men’s category.
