Derek Dede was a wonderful AYSES 08 Boys Gold Player full of life who passed away Thursday night, May 5, 2016 in his sleep. Derek was supposed to celebrate his birthday Sunday, May 15.
Words cannot express the sense of loss to his family; His mother Elizabeth Okpokpo, his father CJ Okpokpo, his one year older brother Dylan and his younger sister.
The rest of his family, his teachers, coaches, classmates, soccer teammates and friends will also miss him dearly.
Derek was gone too soon, and the promise of the light that shone so brightly is suddenly gone. From our worldly perspective, we will never comprehend such a loss. The parents of Derek are strong in their faith in Christ, and through Him they will find strength and hope in the midst of this terrible tragedy. Let's pray that God comfort them and strengthen them in their most hour of need.
As you can imagine, it is difficult enough to go through such a tragedy without the financial burden that goes with it. Derek's family needs your help. Our goal is therefore to raise money for the family to help ease their financial burden as they mourn Derek. The financial help will go a long way in easing their burden.
