The Somerset Poppies
Donation protected
The Somerset Poppies will involve over 3500 children from schools in and around Wells creating poppies to represent Somerset servicemen lost during World War One.
Nearly 8000 poppies will be made by children of all ages, before being displayed at Bishop's Palace, Wells, to mark 100 years since the end of WW1.
The poppies will subsequently be sold, raising money for two charities; Royal British Legion, Wells and SSAFA (Soldiers, Seamen, Airmen and Families Association).
