Ryan and I have been close friends since my family moved to Wolfeboro, NH when I was 11 years old. We played hockey together, snowboarded together and were there for each other during our high school years. Ryan is a great friend to all who know him. Just ask anyone.
For over 7 years, Ryan Goggin proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Infantry S ergeant in Texas, Korea and Iraq. After suffering serious injuries, Ryan came back to the U.S. to receive medical treatment and rehabilitation services. Given an honorable medical discharge, Ryan moved back to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire to be close to his family.
Before beginning college in Colorado in Fall 2015, Ryan decided to take a backpacking trip in Peru. Due to plane delays, Ryan’s trip was extended from three to seven weeks. The morning of his flight back to the U.S. Ryan began to feel dizzy and could barely walk through the airport to board his plane. Upon landing in Miami, Ryan was rushed to the VA to begin medical testing. On January 24th, 2016, Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This may have resulted from exposure to radiation or cancer-causing chemicals while he was serving his country.
Since January, Ryan has undergone numerous rounds of chemotherapy treatments at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ryan’s mother, Michelle quickly left Philadelphia and moved to Florida to be near his side. Rising medical costs as well as travel costs have placed an undue burden on Ryan and his family.
I am asking you to help him out with his mounting expenses so that he can concentrate on getting well. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.
