Supporting Erin

My name is Mary and I am writing on behalf of one of my closest friends, Erin Ludwig. Erin and her husband Jason have two beautiful daughters, Savannah 4 1/2 yrs old and Aubrey 17 months old. The Ludwigs are the most active, fun-loving, caring family and would do anything for anyone. Erin, an athletic trainer, is probably the strongest, toughest, most courageous woman I know. I mean her job is to literally nurse athletes of all shapes and sizes back to health. But aside from her strength and just plain badassness, she is such a positive force to be around and I feel so blessed and fortunate to have her in my life.

However, on June 9, 2015,  Erin and her family's world was flipped upside down; Erin was diagnosed with breast cancer.  At the age of 34 with two small children, she was having to make decisions no one should ever have to make. I often call Erin a warrior, because she tackles anything head on and this "bitch" we call cancer was no different. In July 2015, Erin underwent a double mastectomy followed by rounds of chemo and radiation treatment. Through the pain, feeling sick and tired Erin managed to keep that beautiful smile on her face. Striving to not let this part of her journey affect being a loving wife, caring mother and still very active athletic trainer. And on March 4, 2016, Erin was happy to have completed the treatment portion of her journey, telling cancer to kick rocks.

Unfortunetly, on April 25, 2016, my warrior was put to the test yet again. After suffering for weeks from back pain, it was revealed the cancer had metastasized to multiple locations within her body. This has been a devasting blow to say the least, but in true Ludwig style they are ready to tackle this beast head on.

Now with all that being said with great strength and perseverance sometimes asking for help is not Erin and Jason's strong suit, which is where I come in. All Erin's strongest efforts have to be accompanied with treatments and procedures, which are costly and not always covered by insurance. Not to mention time away from work they have to take to care for Erin and the girls.

Erin is bound and determined to kick cancer's ass, but her and her family need some extra financial support to assist with the fight. As her friend, please join me in helping anyway you can financially, spiritually and emotionally.

On behalf of myself and the Ludwig family thank you for your love and support.
