Puerto Rico or Bust!

Our daughter Nikki will be going on her first mission trip with our church and her confirmation class this summer. This is something she has really started to embrace and is looking forward to. 

The mission trip will be to Puerto Rice and she will be staying at Camp Caribe for a whole week! In spanish its called campamento del caribe.  It's on the southern side of the island by Ponce. 

During that time, they will be doing general maintenance at the camp ground, helping the locals, building camp grounds and cooking and feeding their troop. 

With all the work they will be putting in, one of the days will be a fun day, to which they will be able to take a boat to an island not far from the camp and snorkle all day!

There is a dinner dance happening Saturday, May 7th from 5-8 at First Congregational Church in Elmhurst. There will be authentic Puerto Rican dancers, music provided by the Congo Musician, and food such as Chicken Fricassee, yucca and more. I have tickets available for sale. 18 and over is $15, under 18 is $7. If you would like to purchase tickets, please let me know. If you would simply like to make a donation for the trip, you can do so until the end of June.
