Help Ben Come Home from St. Louis
While attending Championships in St. Louis with our team Gus Robotics - Team 228, one our students, Ben, came down with pancreatitis and was admitted to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. He's getting better but is still in hospital (as of 5/2) until he's stable enough to fly back home to Connecticut. While the rest of the team has returned home, his Mom Amy has remained in St. Louis with him. We're hoping they're both able to come home soon!
Team 228 is raising money to help Ben and Amy with hospital bills, Amy's room and board, and travel costs.
Their expenses are building on a daily basis, so we're hoping to hit our goal within the next week or so in order to help them out.
We know that the FRC community is truly a family and if each FRC team contributes just a little, it will go a long way to helping Ben and Amy with this difficult situation!
It will be so amazing to see them finally come home - they and Gus Robotics will be incredibly grateful for any and all help they receive.
With thanks,
Peter Bayer

Never have we been so blessed to be involved with such an amazing group of kids and adults. I cannot begin to express our gratitude during such a difficult team. Once we have paid the bills Ben and his dad and I would like all of your permission to take any remaining funds and set up an emergency fund for Kids or Families who are attending First events away from home. Ben is on the mend and our hearts are full of joy from all the kindness shown by all of you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and more to come
So happy to hear you're home! I know what it's like to have your child hospitalized--it's not easy for sure, but I hope you were also able to take home some good memories from St. Louis. Best wishes from Team 5460 Strike Zone for a continued recovery, Ben!

Tell them to look into staying at the Ronald McDonald house. The social worker at the hospital should have info about it. Best of luck?
